Tampa Bay Fishing Report 3/18-20

Published December 14th, 2024 by Tampa Fishing Charters

Wow! What a week in Tampa. The water temp is climbing every day, bait is starting to show up around Tampa Bay and the fishing is turning on. The Redfish continue to be very selective but with a little effort, we are getting a few to eat. We are using a 25lb 18? Berkley Fluorocarbon leader with a #1 Daiichi circle hook. Cut bait is the bait of choice. The Trout bite continues to be unpredictable. Some days are good and some days are off. We haven’t tried any Snook fishing yet. Do to the cold snap in January, they have taken a beating and now it’s is time to give them a break. We should start to see them in the staging areas as the make there transition to the flats in search for food. They will be preparing to spawn in May. Season will be closed until September so handle them with care to ensure an easy release. To book a Tampa Fishing Charter with fishing guide Capt. Will Shook call 813-732-5971
